This year marks the 40th anniversary of our largest program, Operation School Bell!
Assistance League® of Indianapolis is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization whose mission is to support children and adults in the Central Indiana area through its philanthropic programs. It began serving the community in 1984 and was chartered into National Assistance League® as the 78th chapter in 1988. As a completely volunteer organization without paid staff, it is comprised of approximately 180 members and is overseen by an elected Board of Directors.
Operation School Bell® - Apparel served 3,100 Pre-K through 5th grade students from IPS, and the Metropolitan
school Districts of Pike, Lawrence, Warren and Washington Townships in 2023-2024.
Our records show that Operation School Bell has saved area families over $3.1 million since 2018.
Each child receives all NEW items in a duffel bag; winter coat; hat and gloves; 6 pairs of socks; 6 briefs; 2 pants or skorts; 2 shirts; and a toothbrush.
We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. Last fiscal year members donated 27,508 hours, valued at $921,243.
