Fundraising News
Assistance League of Indianapolis is tax-exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the IRS code and has no salaried staff or paid employees. Services are made possible through private gifts, grants, and donations. Over 86% of all funds raised are returned to the community through our five philanthropic programs. All funds remain in the Indianapolis area and surrounding communities.
Three important fundraising activities are:
- Assistance League Star Gala: The Star Gala Event is held each March. The evening includes a delicious dinner, entertainment, and live and silent auctions. A large array of wonderful items, trips, and services are auctioned each year. We appreciate donated services and items for the auction. - Holiday Luncheon: The luncheon is held each year just before the holidays. It offers a festive luncheon, style show, and a silent auction. The Holiday Luncheon will take place on
- Operation School Bell® Direct Mail Campaign: Each fall a very successful direct mail appeal brings in much needed funds to purchase new clothing and shoes for disadvantaged students. A donation of $85 will provide clothing in a duffle bag for one child; $20 will buy a pair of shoes. Mailers will be distributed the first week of September 2007.
- SCRIPT Program: Participate in Assistance League's SCRIPT program. Simply order and pre-pay for gift certificates from establishments where you plan to shop or dine, and Assistance League earns a commission on each gift certificate. The commissions range from 2% to 25%, most fall in the 8% to 9% range. You will receive the full value of your purchase. All gift certificates are valid for at least one year form the date of purchase. Assistance League only buys what is ordered, so there is no lost income from "unsold" merchandise.
