Assistance League of Indianapolis, the 78th chapter of National Assistance League was organized in 1984 and chartered in 1988, with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. On average, the organization boasts 200 member-volunteers and has a 13-member Board of Directors. We have no salaried staff or paid employees. Our board of directors, a member-elected working board, meets monthly.
As a member-volunteer association our members are the strength of our organization. For the year beginning June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022, members devoted 6,224 charitable hours, which if paid by an employer would calculate to $82,177* The Assistance League of Indianapolis 2022-23 fiscal year expense budget is $517,890.
