What We Do Each Assault Survivor Kit contains a sweat suit, socks and briefs for individuals. Additional undergarments and t-shirts are also provided separately, along with hygiene items. The program serves 13 hospitals and agencies in the central Indiana area. |
How We Do It Assistance League members assemble the kits and deliver them to area hospitals and centers that treat victims of rape or assault. Before leaving the facility, the victim must relinquish personal clothing for evidence. By providing clothing to victims of this type of crime, we assist victims who would otherwise go home in a hospital gown or clothing from a lost and found. |
Support Us Since the Assault Survivor Kit program began in 1994, Assistance League has given 17,451 kits and 16,493 undergarments to victims of assault. Knowing that someone cares enough to meet their immediate needs, gives victims the courage to take the next steps toward recovery. The budget for this program is $15,000. For as little as a $13 donation, you can provide an Assault Survivor Kit for a crime victim. |
