​Why is Operation School Bell so important?

Have you heard of the documentary, A Pebble in the Pond?  The film is an inspiring and truly joyful journey that tells the history of Anne Banning, Operation School Bell, and the history of Assistance League!  While A Pebble in the Pond is all about Assistance League’s origins, history, members, and recipients, as many reviews of the film have already pointed out, the film is so much more than that.  A Pebble in the Pond is a joyful and entertaining journey.  It’s an inspiring, call to action and a reminder of all the good that is being done in the world.  Some much-needed feel-good news and evidence that every action we take, big or small, can have huge and life-changing ramifications.  

In addition to being an award-winning film, the documentary received WORLDWIDE distribution and is now available via iTunes, Amazon, Apple TV, YouTube, Google Play, DirecTv, and a plethora of other places including libraries (via Hoopla).

Join us at the annual Holiday Luncheon & Style Show to be held December 5, 2025 at the Ritz Charles. This seasonal tradition includes vendors, silent auction, raffles, lunch and a style show by local boutique, Tangerine Cards & Gifts.

Assistance League helps our member-volunteers realize their vision for our community where all funds raised stay in the Indianapolis metro area. For 39 years, our philanthropic programs have helped children and adults in central Indiana.
