ALI Friends |
What We Do Assistance League members organize and participate in activites for guests or residents in two facilities: Joy's House, a not-for-profit adult day care center and North Capitol Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Playing bingo is a favorite activity as well as seasonal parties, reading together, sharing music and serving health treats. Birthday and holiday gifts are chosen with care and provided for celebrations. |
How It's Done The goal of ALI Friends is to nurture a relationship with senior citizens, providing companionship and activities, enriching and improving the quality of their lives. COVID has prevented personal contact with our ALI Friends. We dropped off "thinking of you" cards to North Capitol. Since vendors were not allowed in the buildings to re-stock the vending machine during COVID, our members stepped up. Bags of assorted chips and packets of Ritz crackers, soft drinks, etc. were delivered every other month to North Capitol and Joy’s House. |
Support Us Assistance League volunteers enrich the lives of guests/residents of Joy's House and the North Capitol Nursing and Rehabilitation Center by providing enjoyable activities. Funding for ALI Friends is provided by foundations, corporations, businesses, fundraisers, and individuals. |
