Offering Friendship and Cheer

​ALI Friends offer companionship and caring  to enhance and improve the quality of life for seniors and people with disabilities.

What We Do

Assistance League members organize and participate in activites for guests or residents in two facilities:  Joy's House, a not-for-profit adult day care center and North Capitol Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Playing bingo is a favorite activity as well as seasonal parties, reading together, sharing music and serving health treats.  Birthday and holiday gifts are chosen with care and provided for celebrations.

How We Do It

The goal of ALI Friends is to nurture a relationship and
provide companionship and activities, that enrich and improve the quality of life for seniors and people with disabilities at Joy’s House and North Capitol Rehabilitation Center.

As COVID continued to influence the program, we were limited to only to a few in person visits during the year. We were creative in playing virtual bingo at Joy’s House. Bags with various hygiene items and treats and 2022 calendars were provided to 60 residents
at North Capitol.

Support Us

Assistance League volunteers enrich the lives of guests/residents of Joy's House and the North Capitol Nursing and Rehabilitation Center by providing enjoyable activities. The budget for ALI Friends is $2,250.
