Beyond the Bell
What We Do
Beyond the Bell was developed to serve students who move in, become homeless, or have other situations arise. The division provides clothing items to 48 IPS and nine Pike elementary schools.
How We Do It
Each participating school receives a bag which contains a variety of sizes of clothing to meet needs as they become apparent to school personnel. The total amount of items include 21 uniform pants, 21 shirts, 42 boys’ briefs, 42 girls’ briefs and 12 pair socks. School personnel complete a log sheet documenting the distribution of clothing. IPS receives items in the fall and Pike receives items in the spring.
From the many stories received from school personnel, Beyond the Bell has made a significant difference for many students and all have expressed gratitude for the program. The budget for Beyond the Bell is $23,000. We are grateful that this program is totally funded by a grant award from the Giordano Family Charitable Fund and an anonymous donor.
