Beyond the Bell

Beyond The Bell, provides an inventory of school clothing consisting of uniform pants, collared shirts, underwear and socks. School personnel distributes items to students on an immediate emergency basis. The goal of Beyond The Bell is to keep students from missing valuable classroom time due to clothing issues. It is estimated that up to 2,000 students will benefit from this division each year. school year. |
What We Do Beyond the Bell was developed to serve students who move in, become homeless, or have other situations arise. The division provides clothing items to 48 IPS and nine Pike elementary schools. |
How We Do It Each participating school receives a bag which contains a variety of sizes of clothing to meet needs as they become apparent to school personnel. The total amount of items include 21 uniform pants, 21 shirts, 42 boys’ briefs, 42 girls’ briefs and 12 pair socks. School personnel complete a log sheet documenting the distribution of clothing. IPS receives items in the fall and Pike receives items in the spring. |
Support Us From the many stories received from school personnel, Beyond the Bell has made a significant difference for many students and all have expressed gratitude for the program. The budget for Beyond the Bell is $23,000. We are grateful that this program is totally funded by a grant award from the Giordano Family Charitable Fund and an anonymous donor. |
