Shoes
|
What We Do Social workers from Indianapolis Public Schools and participating metropolitan area school districts screen and identify children in need of shoes. New athletic shoes and socks are purchased by Assistance League at a discounted price from local store retailer, Shoe Carnival. |
How It's Done Students arrive at a central location via a bus from their school system. Shoe Carnival personnel measure and fit the children while Assistance League volunteers supervise. They immediately receive their new socks and shoes to take with them when they reboard their bus and return to school. |
