The athletic shoes provided by Operation School Bell help put smiles on children's faces and helps to ease the financial burden on families struggling to provide the essentials for their children. Since 2000, over 56,000 children have received socks and shoes. |

What We Do School personnel from Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and the Metropolitan School Districts of Lawrence, Pike, Warren, Washington, and Wayne Townships identify and screen students in need of shoes. New athletic shoes are purchased by Assistance League at a discounted price from a local store retailer. |
How We Do It Parents provide shoe sizes for their children and school personnel are supplied with shoe-size measuring devices. The shoes are selected by the local shoe retailer, packed, and labeled with the student’s name, school, and teacher. Shoes are delivered or picked up by school districts. |
